the combination of salt and micro grit provide a dual action, the salts lowers
the freezing point, the grit provides mechanical action in breaking frozen
surfaces. At low temperatures when salt solutions begin to freeze; the grit will
continue to providetraction. In repeated freeze thaw events the salt solution
will become diluted, however the addition of grit will still continue to provide
resistance.
DUAL ACTION Gritsalt is suitable for use in grit bins, on pathways,
footpaths, driveways, roads & car parks. Particularly valuable when spread on
sloping walkways and highway gradients, giving greater grip underfoot for
pedestrians, and increased road holding for wheeled vehicles. Once the snow
and ice have melted a residual grit will remain and may need clearing.
